Why we built it

Synthetic images are now common in news feeds, marketplaces, creative work, and identity-fraud attempts. AnyImageDetector exists to make an initial image check fast and understandable for individuals, reviewers, and developers.

The web detector offers a low-friction first check. The API gives product and trust-and-safety teams the same output in a form they can integrate into a review workflow.

Our principles

  • Show uncertainty. Results include a score, verdict, and confidence label rather than pretending that detection is infallible.
  • Explain limitations. Compression, editing, new generators, and hybrid images can all affect the result.
  • Minimize image retention. Submitted image files are not added to account history; only result data may be retained for signed-in users.
  • Support human review. A detector result should inform an investigation, not replace evidence or context.
  • Keep claims testable. When we publish performance numbers, we will attach a dated methodology and reproducible test set.
